Health Management and Social Care Field Learning Expo 2024

Innovative Ideas and Practices for Healthy Lifestyles and Field Learning

It aims to showcase students’ innovative designs and practices in promoting healthy lifestyles and field learning. The Expo will be held on 1 June 2024 and consists of four parts:

C.  Outstanding Student Award

1. Aim

  • To showcase students’ reflective thinking in designing and conducting field learning

2. Target applicants

  •  Students can participate individually or in teams and only one entry in each  category.
  • Each school can nominate at most three teams (1-4 students each) of S4 – S6 students to participate

3. Content

  • Themes – My Field Learning in Health Management and Social Care
  • Categories:
    A. Outstanding Field Learning Design: acknowledging students their in-depth understanding on the HMSC knowledge and concepts as well as the innovative thinking during the process in designing the field learning
    B. Outstanding Field Learning Reflection: acknowledging students who show outstanding reflective abilities and critical thinking in the application of knowledge and the practical experiences in field learning.
  • Schools should complete the nomination form and return it with student’s work on or before 1 March 2024 (Friday).
  • Each nominated student / team should submit a design / reflection in not more than 1 000 words (either in Chinese or English). Late submission or the content after the 1000th word will NOT be read.
  • The shortlisted students / teams will be invited to give a 5-minute presentation to the Judging Panel about the design / reflection on 1 June 2024 (Saturday), followed by a brief discussion on the reflection with the judges.
  • Gold, silver and bronze awards will be given to the students / teams with outstanding performance.

4. Rules of The Award

  • The work must be original and should not be published or entered any competition before.
  • Participants need to guarantee that the submitted work does not involve plagiarism or infringe any copyright.
  • The Award results are determined by Independent Judging Panel. Participants shall not object to the results and awards determined.
  • All entries submitted will not be returned.

5. Awards

Each category includes:

  • Gold Award
  • Silver Award
  • Bronze Award

The winners may be invited to experience and participate in health and social care work in authentic workplace settings.

6. Judging Panel

  • Representatives from the related disciplines in universities and experienced professionals of the related sectors.

7. Judging Criteria
